Greg Toy – APS Owner and Lead Technician
Greg has 45 years of experience in the recreational ice industry. He has worked for Ice Capades Chalets and Ice Capades Show as chief refrigeration engineer (17 years). He has also worked for Commercial Refrigeration which was purchased and transferred to Pace Industrial USA Inc. (12 years). Part of Greg’s experience in the industrial refrigeration and equipment service and construction industry includes new ice slabs installations, installing and commissioning new and used refrigeration skids, condensers, cooling towers, retrofits of heat reclaim systems, compressor rebuilds specializing in Mycom and Vilter compressors, ice maintenance, ice painting, ice resurfacers and general ice rink equipment operations.
Greg has been factory trained to work on many system designs and holds the following certifications:
- CFC Universal Certificate (EPA & OSHA) for Freon and Ammonia gases used in ice rinks
- Hazardous Communication
- 40 Hrs Hazwoper training
- CPR
- LOTO (Lock-out/Tag-out)
- Scissor lift, Aerial lift and forklift training
- Respirator Certificate
Special projects:Â construction foreman for the opening and closing ceremonies ice at the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, constructed luge run for public participation, and portable ice installations internationally.

James Toy – APS Lead Technician
James has 12 years of experience in the recreational ice industry. He graduated as top technician in 2018 while attending RSI’s 18-month Mechanical Engineering program, earning his Mechanical Engineering degree in Phoenix, AZ. Part of James’s experience in the industrial refrigeration and equipment service and construction industry includes new ice slabs installations, installing and commissioning new and used refrigeration skids, condensers, cooling towers, retrofits of heat reclaim systems, compressor rebuilds specializing in Mycom and Vilter compressors, computer controls, electrical and control wiring, ice maintenance, ice painting, and general ice rink equipment operations.

Nathen Reynolds – APS Mechanical Lead Technician
Nathen has 30 years of experience in the commercial HVAC/R industry. Part of Nathen’s experience in the commercial HVAC/R includes A/C systems, heater, boilers, cooling towers, retrofitting systems, new install, processing plants, compressor rebuilds specializing in Copeland and Vilter compressors.
Nathen has been factory trained to work on many system designs and holds the following certifications:
- CFC Universal Certificate (EPA & OSHA) for Freon and Ammonia gases used in HVAC/R
- Hazardous Communication
- 40 Hrs Hazwoper training
